HELLO, I'M CINDY.

I'm a philosopher. I'm also a photographer. I like thinking about ethical issues and politics. My specialization is in legal philosophy, political philosophy, and applied ethics.  My dream career goal is to start a think tank that analyses normative issues in the making of legislation from a philosophical point of view.

I'm currently a PhD candidate in philosophy at the University of Maryland. My advisor is Christopher Morris, and I work with him on a dissertation project titled "The Justification and Legitimacy of States." I'm a Adam Smith Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, where I study political economics. I also hold another fellowship in political economics at the Snider Center at University of Maryland for the 2016-2017 academic year.

I grew up in Buffalo, New York. I used to be a junior downhill ski racer in high school. Sadly, I gave it up to move to a flat state, Columbus, Ohio, to begin my bachelors degree at The Ohio State University. I graduated from Ohio State with a BA in political science and economics, and I still identify as a Buckeye. I then moved to Atlanta, which remains one of my favorite cities, to earn a MA in philosophy at Georgia State University. At Georgia State, I studied mostly general analytic jurisprudence, the "what is law?" debate, and I completed a master's thesis under William Edmundson and Christie Hartley.

Now, I live in Washington, D.C, where I enjoy living where all the action happens.

Thanks for visiting my humble estate on the web. Click around. And I hope you enjoy what you see!
